Week One

okay, so after 3 days things are pretty bad - and I'm not talking about my reading schedule. Paradise in Gen. 1 & 2 seems like a long time ago, now Abraham is giving up Sarah to whoever king whenever, and Sarah's giving Abraham her slaves. And, these are the good guys! Never underestimate the depth and pervasiveness of sin, and how it is destructive even for the believer. But there is good news! "Abraham believed God, and it was credited him as righteousness." That's salvation by grace, through faith! So believe, believe, believe!

  1. It's funny to see how Issac repeats his father's lie, about sarah being his sister, with Rebekah. You also see God constantly repeating his promise to Abraham, and Issac about them being blessed, and fuitful and that they will be the fathers of all nations and their descendants will be as many as the grains of sand and the stars in the sky.

  2. hi everyone :) first off, i dont understand blogger at all!

i'm enjoying the reading so far. i feel like its a great opportunity and its really teaching me discipline. i thinkn reading the bible through so quickly will help me see the big picture of the bible, but i'm not picking up as much detail as if i would read 1 chapter at a time. i liked reading about joseph because i feel like thats a story i've heard a million times, but never read on me own!

i could use some prayer - i'm starting my summer job at a kid's camp i work at this wednesday. this summer i have a big leadership position and i know god is going to be stretching me and taking me out of my comfort zone. this also means i'm going to need even more discipline when it comes to reading the bible because i'll have evne more less time!!
i wont be on the internet half as much, but hopefully i'll still get to keep up with the blog! :)
